Apple’s first foldable arrives in October
Apple has introduced iPhone Duo, its first folding iPhone. Preorders begin October 16, followed by initial availability on October 23. China is among the first launch markets; 28 more markets follow on October 30. Apple’s announcement

Two screens, with Touch ID on the side
Apple’s specification page lists a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.4-inch outer display and an A20 Pro chip. Both screens support adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. Pencil support comes later
9to5Mac’s post-event report details Split View multitasking and the promise of USB-C Apple Pencil support later this year. Pencil compatibility should not be treated as a launch-day feature. Buyers should also check carrier compatibility: Apple says Duo is eSIM-only worldwide.
The larger display and new app layouts are demonstrated features. Their everyday usefulness, battery life and durability still need independent testing; this site has not tested a device.
