Apple’s first foldable launched October 23

Two screens, with Touch ID on the side
Apple’s specification page lists a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.4-inch outer display and an A20 Pro chip. Both screens support adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. Pencil support arrives with iOS 27.2
9to5Mac’s post-event report details Split View multitasking and Apple’s original promise of USB-C Apple Pencil support later in 2026. Under the iOS 27.2 release candidate, released October 19, analyst Max Weinbach’s hands-on testing found that the USB-C model works on both the inner and outer displays. That testing is not an Apple announcement. A public release is expected around the end of October. The launch version of iOS does not include Pencil support until 27.2 ships, so it is still not a feature of the software on the phone at launch. MacRumors, AppleInsider. The larger display and new app layouts are demonstrated features. Their everyday usefulness, battery life and durability still need independent testing; this site has not tested a device.
